SSDI & SSI
Two programs. We help with both.
SSDI and SSI both provide disability benefits — but the rules are different. Here's the plain-English version.
Social Security Disability Insurance
SSDI
- Based on your work history and Social Security credits
- Usually requires recent work earnings
- May include Medicare after 24 months
- Benefits based on your past earnings
Supplemental Security Income
SSI
- Based on financial need (income & resources)
- Does not require a work history
- May include Medicaid in most states
- Benefits at a federal base amount
